Terms of Service
These terms are the agreement between you and misu. They cover how you may use the app, your misu subscription, and the limits of what we can promise. Please read them — by using misu, you accept them.
Welcome to misu. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the misu mobile application, website, and related services (together, the "Service"), operated by Misu LLC ("misu," "we," "us," or "our"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.

01Accepting these terms
By creating an account, downloading, or using misu, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated here by reference. If you are using misu on behalf of someone else, you represent that you are authorized to accept these Terms for them.
02Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old (or the age of digital consent in your country, whichever is higher) and able to form a binding contract to use misu. The Service is not intended for anyone under that age.
03Your account
You are responsible for the accuracy of your account information and for keeping your credentials secure. You are responsible for activity that happens under your account. Tell us promptly at support@misu-app.com if you suspect unauthorized use. You may not share your account or transfer it to anyone else.
04Pairing with your person
misu is designed for two people to share meals. When you pair with another person, content you choose to log (photos, dish details, calories, macros, reactions, and messages) is shared with that person. Only share what you're comfortable with them seeing. You can unpair at any time; doing so stops future sharing but does not necessarily remove content already delivered to the other person's device. Each person controls their own account and is responsible for their own conduct.
05Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use misu for anything unlawful, harmful, harassing, or abusive;
- Upload content that infringes others' rights or that you don't have the right to share;
- Attempt to access another person's account or data without permission;
- Reverse engineer, scrape, overload, or interfere with the Service or its security;
- Resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit the Service without our written permission;
- Use the Service to provide medical, clinical, or professional dietary services to others.
06Subscription & auto-renewal
misu is a single auto-renewable subscription that unlocks the full experience for you and your paired partner. Please read these terms carefully — they are required by the app stores and explain how billing works.
- What you get: full access to everything misu offers, for you and your paired partner. There are no separate tiers.
- Price & length: the price and billing period shown in the app at purchase, following a 7-day free trial for eligible new subscribers. Prices may vary by region and are always shown before you purchase.
- Free trial: if you start a free trial and do not cancel before it ends, your subscription will automatically begin and you will be charged. Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited when you purchase a subscription, where applicable.
- Auto-renewal: your subscription automatically renews for the same period unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- Billing: payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase and on each renewal.
- Managing & canceling: you can manage or cancel your subscription, and turn off auto-renewal, in You → Manage subscription or in your App Store account settings. Deleting the app does not cancel your subscription.
- Refunds: purchases are processed by Apple, and refunds are subject to the App Store's policies. Except where required by law, payments are non-refundable and we do not provide refunds or credits for partial periods.
- Price changes: if we change the subscription price, we will notify you in advance, and the change will apply only after the notice required by the App Store and applicable law.
07Automated estimates & health disclaimer
misu uses automated image analysis to estimate the dish, calories, and macros in your meals from a photo or description. These results are estimates and may be inaccurate. They are provided for general informational and motivational purposes only.
misu is not a medical device and does not provide medical, nutritional, or healthcare advice. Do not rely on misu for any medical decision. Always consult a qualified healthcare professional before changing your diet, especially if you have a medical condition, an eating disorder, are pregnant, or are managing a health goal. If you are in crisis or need help, contact a medical professional or local emergency services.
08Your content
You keep ownership of the photos, text, and other content you create in misu ("Your Content"). You grant us a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, process, and display Your Content solely to operate and provide the Service to you and your paired partner — for example, to read your plate, sync your log, and show your archive. This license ends when you delete Your Content or your account, except for content already shared with your partner and for reasonable backup retention as described in our Privacy Policy. You are responsible for Your Content and confirm you have the right to share it.
09Our intellectual property
The Service — including the misu name, logo, design, and software — is owned by us and our licensors and is protected by intellectual-property laws. We grant you a personal, limited, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service in accordance with these Terms. We reserve all rights not expressly granted.
10Termination
You may stop using misu and delete your account at any time (see Account Deletion). Deletion begins a 30-day grace period during which you can reactivate by logging back in; after it elapses, your personal data is permanently erased. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, if required by law, or if we discontinue the Service. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (such as content licenses already granted, disclaimers, and limitations of liability) will survive.
11Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or that its estimates will be accurate. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain disclaimers, so some of these may not apply to you.
12Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, misu and its officers, employees, and suppliers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Some jurisdictions do not allow these limits, so they may not fully apply to you.
13Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold misu harmless from claims, damages, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your misuse of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any law or the rights of a third party.
14Governing law & disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, USA, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute relating to these Terms or the Service will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Georgia, unless applicable law requires otherwise or you have non-waivable rights in your place of residence.
15App store additional terms
These terms apply when you download misu from the Apple App Store. You acknowledge that:
- These Terms are between you and misu only, not with Apple or Google. Apple and Google are not responsible for the Service or its content.
- Apple and Google have no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the Service.
- If the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify the app store where you purchased it, and that store may refund the purchase price (if any). To the maximum extent permitted by law, the app stores have no other warranty obligation with respect to the app.
- Apple and Google are not responsible for addressing any claims by you or a third party relating to the app, including product-liability, legal/regulatory, or consumer-protection claims.
- In the event of a third-party intellectual-property infringement claim relating to the app, misu — not Apple or Google — is responsible for investigation and resolution.
- You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo and are not on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- Apple, Google, and their subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you where applicable.
16Changes & contact
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make a material change, we'll update the "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Continued use of misu after a change means you accept the revised Terms.
